How to track a Vinted parcel (and what the app doesn’t tell you)
Vinted’s tracking screen shows you four or five friendly steps. The courier carrying your parcel records twenty. When the Vinted screen goes quiet, the parcel usually hasn’t — you’re just looking at the wrong system.
Vinted doesn’t deliver anything
Vinted is a marketplace with shipping labels bolted on. The parcel is carried by a normal courier, and which one depends on the shipping option the buyer picked:
- Mondial Relay / InPost — pickup-point and locker deliveries, the most common choice in France and Poland.
- Colissimo — home delivery via La Poste.
- Chronopost / Shop2Shop — pickup points and express.
- Evri, DPD, GLS, Correos, PostNL — depending on the country.
Every one of them publishes far more detail than Vinted surfaces. You just need the number.
Finding the real tracking number
- Open the order in Vinted → My orders → the conversation with the seller.
- Tap Track parcel. The screen shows the courier name and a reference — that reference is the courier’s tracking number.
- If it isn’t shown, check the shipping confirmation email from Vinted. The number is in the tracking link’s URL.
- Paste it into a tracking app that covers all of those couriers at once, so you don’t have to guess which website to visit.
Mondial Relay numbers are 8 digits. Colissimo starts with 6A, 8R or similar and runs 13 characters. InPost is usually 24 digits. If your code is much longer and full of letters, it’s a Vinted order reference, not a tracking number.
The three moments Vinted goes quiet
Between “sent” and the first scan
The seller marks the item as sent when they generate the label, which can be a day or two before they actually drop it at the pickup point. Vinted shows “sent”; the courier shows nothing. The courier is right.
The pickup-point handover
With Mondial Relay and InPost, the parcel is scanned at the origin point, disappears into the network, and reappears at the destination point. That middle stretch is genuinely dark on some networks — up to three days domestically is normal, not a problem.
After “delivered”
For pickup points, “delivered” means the parcel reached the shop, not that you have it. You typically have 10 to 14 days to collect before it’s returned to the seller — and a returned parcel makes the refund messy for both sides. Set a reminder the day it arrives.
If the parcel is genuinely stuck
Vinted holds the buyer’s money until delivery is confirmed, which is the whole point of shipping through the platform. So the order of operations matters:
- Don’t confirm receipt and don’t let the auto-confirmation timer run out while the parcel is missing.
- Message the seller in the order thread — it’s the record Vinted reads if it has to arbitrate.
- Open “I have an issue” in the order before the buyer-protection window closes. That window is the deadline that actually matters.
- Let Vinted chase the courier. The buyer has no contract with the carrier — the label is Vinted’s, so the claim is Vinted’s to make.
The same logic applies to Depop, Etsy and Leboncoin: the marketplace status is a summary, the courier scan is the fact. Track the fact.
